Recall InfoLink is delighted to welcome Jim Flannery to the team. Jim joins us with a wealth of knowledge and experience and offers his expertise to our team at a critical time of growth in the adapting industry.
Prior to joining our team, Jim was Senior Executive Vice President at the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA). While there, Jim was responsible for GMA’s overall Member Value Creation efforts and had primary responsibility for developing and implementing collaborative relationships, initiatives and programs with retailers and their trade associations across all retail channels.
Jim joined GMA in 2013 after 36 years at Procter & Gamble (P&G), where he most recently served as Managing Director, Customer Development, P&G Global Operations.
“Jim Flannery knows the CPG world,” says Roger Hancock, president and CEO of Recall InfoLink. “In particular, he brings a deep understanding of the trust built between the consumer and the brands they love. Protecting that trust throughout his career in the CPG world now adds to the scope of services provided by Recall InfoLink.”
Throughout his career, Jim has seen the challenges of crisis managed product recalls. Manufacturers, producers or suppliers who need to start or initiate a recall struggle to execute efficiently.
“They struggle because they don’t do it often. In fact, typically manufacturers have to execute a recall less than once every three years. There are no systemic processes, so recall information must be communicated independently to each impacted retailer – lots of duplication and room for error,” Jim explains.
In July 2013, Jim was a leader in establishing an industry project team composed of retailers, wholesalers, suppliers, solution providers and GS1 with the goal of creating a common and systemic approach to recall communication. His contributions to Recall InfoLink are an important continuation of that project, as we work to bring a simple, standardized recall solution to the supply chain around the world.
Jim’s conclusion is clear: “Recall InfoLink is by far the best solution provider bringing the output of that project to life. Recalls are important, they protect consumers and protect brands. I’m excited to put my energy behind the Recall InfoLink Team because they have the best and most scalable solution.”
